Dish Diplomacy – Cooking Exchange Series

Our Dish Diplomacy Program is a series of Cooking exchange program where we believe food speaks louder than words in fostering cultural exchange.

In this program, locals are matched with Hongkongers to share recipes close to their hearts. Through the mutual interest in cooking, a dialogue on culture and heritage naturally unfolds, enriching our understanding of each other’s backgrounds and fostering meaningful connections with other cultures.

I loved the sharing of cultures through food, a fantastic way to learn more about each other and how food plays such an important part of our everyday lives. Lovely to feel like we played a part in helping others integrate into a new culture. Also it was very easy to talk to everyone as we all had a common interest without feeling overwhelmed. It was great to learn some new dishes and meet new people. What I loved about it was it gave my daughter the confidence to cook a dish independently at home.

I always left the sessions having learned something new and felt inspired to cook many of the recipes again at home. A couple of them have become new family favourites. My children loved helping to prepare the dishes each fortnight. Everyone made them feel so welcome!

I loved getting to learn new recipes and ingredients, as well as new cooking techniques. Making new friends, and learning about their favourite foods and what inspires them.
